The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) invests in research and postgraduate training, building the knowledge and skills base needed to address the scientific and technological challenges facing the nation. It is the main funding body for engineering and physical sciences in the UK.

EPSRC is a part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), a new body which aims to create the best possible environment for research and innovation to flourish. They work with their many partners to benefit everyone through knowledge, talent and ideas. Partners such as universities, research organisations, business, charity, and government.

The Nuclear Energy Futures CDT will graduate up to 80 PhDs that will provide innovation and leadership for the future of the UK nuclear industry.
